WordPress 2.5 is out but the blog won’t ride the hype anytime soon. I’ve been giving blogging a serious thought and its my duty to inform all readers I’ll be on hiatus from blogging until further notice.

The main reason, I’m freeing up time from blogging to do more with life. If you’ll really like to have a more in-depth understanding of the entire situation, I’ll recommend you pick up the book The 4 Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss from your local bookstore.

When I return, I’ll definitely be blogging alot lesser but in future, I hope this little hobby of mine will continue to play an even more meaningful role then.

Meanwhile, I think Wordpress 2.5 would play an awesome role as a Content Management System (CMS) and I’ll continue to design/paint and soldier till next year.

Cheers and have a good day!

I’ve been blogging for a good couple of years and to tell the truth, the fact I continue doing so was was partly for fame.

It was good fun experimenting with techniques on how to my blog more Search Engine Optimized (SEO) and trying various avenues for advertising a blog. In fact this experience could be useful for any activities, related to internet marketing, I might engage in the future.

There were times I felt lazy to even type or update my blog, or writing just for the sake of updating so as to see more unique visitors each month. But the numbers were just numbers and didn’t necessary reflect the quality of one’s own writing.

As time passed, I began to seen blogging more of an obstacle/challenge rather than something I thoroughly enjoy doing. I’ve also come to realise that a personal blog should be more of a log to one’s self-discovery and statistics ruins this purpose.

Hence, I’ve decided to place the focus of this blog more on my perspective of things and if any were to come to agree with it, it would be an added bonus. In time, the layout should change not because readers want me to but rather it would be an act of adding some form of personalisation and taking ownership.

I believe I’ll lose a good portion of readers, interested in the various topics listed on the right, but let’s hope that with age my writings are still interesting enough to be legible.

Hiatus Log

  • Overseas training in Taiwan, freezing.
  • Touring Taipei, broke.
  • Chinese New Year in Singapore, filling.
  • Life without blogging, ridiculous.

I’m a little late on the updates but rest assured that I’m still alive and kicking and I don’t intend to quit blogging, just yet. Currently working on a couple of things as well as rethinking where my blog and website is heading next.

Expect updates within the next couple of weeks.

Cheers.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Its a brand new year and we all want to start on a good note don’t we?

Let’s begin with a couple of things we can look forward to this year…

  1. Beijing Olympics 2008 - Its always a pleasure to check out that favourite sport of yours and those hot bods on TV might just motivate you to hit the gym more often this year.
  2. Events - Be it your next holiday trip or your best friend’s wedding, big events or small events. There’s definitely something personal we can all look forward to this year.
  3. Long Public Holidays - This one applies if you’re Singaporean but then again each country has its perks in its own calendar. Now there’s no complaining you don’t have time to chill out and party! credit - Stomp xXkenkenXx
  4. Your Birthday - Be it celebrating it in a high-key or low-key manner, its only a sin when you don make the best out of it; just ask someone who’s born on a leap day. To add a whole new meaning to it, you might just want to Wiki your own birth date.

What do I look forward to in 2008?
Choices and surprises.

Everyone got your New Year Resolutions ready?

I haven’t, since those never really worked for me for as long as I remember.

2007 been a pleasantly radical year; big decisions and life-changing moments. One moment my friends and I were rushing through graveyard schedules to prepare ourselves for our graduation show, Fusion 2007, and the next I see myself saying goodbye to all of them as I witness myself transforming from a civilian to a soldier; my hair hasn’t grown much since then.

Now that I look back, a decade of my life, isn’t nearly as exciting as this one year alone.

A couple of years back, a friend of mine would have casually commented, “You haven’t really lived life.” I thought it was ridiculous back then, I still think it is, right now; its been only 20 years on Earth, I still have too little to say about life. But from a different perspective, she was right, life was pretty much about textbooks and school projects back then, heh.

I’ve been thinking alot about the future for the past week; what I want out of life itself and how the 2 years I spend in army is going to make the most sense later on.

So I’m trying to get my portfolio online with whatever weekend time and holiday off-days given before I apply for Art Center next year. I’ll hate to see myself rushing things out at the eleventh hour, that would mean my work habits haven’t changed one bit.

A year full of regrets would be the last thing I want this Christmas.

If you’re coming up with a list of resolutions for the new year, why not have a list of lessons learnt from the past year instead?

P.S. Heading for Taiwan on 13 Jan next year so lemme know if you need anything there..

And before that, I’ll be off to the jungles again..

Souvenirs from Mother Nature? I’ll be glad to help =]

Seasons Greetings,
Cheers!
